Xpand Olympiad is inviting math coaches, olympians, and educators from around the world to help build Cameroon’s Olympiad training pipeline — one session at a time.
A very young Olympiad country
Cameroon sent its first-ever team to the International Mathematical Olympiad in 2023. In 2025, on only our second appearance, one of our students earned the country’s first IMO Honorable Mention. In 2026, we’re preparing for our third participation.
We’re proud of that trajectory — but three participations, in a nation of nearly 30 million people, means we’re still right at the beginning. The talent is there. What’s missing is enough experienced coaches to develop it.
Coaching knowledge doesn’t travel easily to us
Most Olympiad training material, and most experienced coaches, are concentrated in a handful of countries with decades of tradition — and nearly all of it lives in English. Cameroon is building its coaching bench almost from scratch, and we’ve learned we can’t do it well in isolation.
That’s the gap this program exists to close: direct contact between our students and people who’ve already walked this road, in whatever form fits your schedule.
Whatever time you have is enough
We deliberately kept this flexible. Sessions run online — a single one already means a great deal to us.
One Session
A single 30–60 minute session on a topic you love teaching. No ongoing commitment — even once a year moves us forward.
Partial Season
A few weeks to a couple of months, at whatever pace fits your schedule — even a handful of sessions with the same group of students makes a difference.
Full Season
Alongside our students for a full training cycle — closer to how our own coaches work with them.

Bring your own topic, or ask us what we need
Pick anything you’re excited to teach — combinatorics, geometry, functional equations, contest strategy, whatever draws you in. If you’d rather teach to a specific gap, ask us: we can point you to where our students are currently struggling.
Our current focus is mathematics, but we’re not limited to it — Xpand Olympiad also fields teams in AI (IOAI), Physics (IPhO), and pan-African olympiads (PAMO, PAIO, AOIA). If your background is in one of these, we’d like to hear from you too.

Xpand Olympiad
We’re the organization building Cameroon’s pipeline for international science olympiads — a network of 1,000+ partner schools and a selection process reaching thousands of students a year, run in partnership with La Plume d’Or, the Ministry of Secondary Education’s national olympiad partner.
Official languages: English & French — sessions can run in either.
